They say to isolate for 5 days and test on the 3rd or 5th day. You're probably fine, but wear a mask if you go out to be safe. I've been exposed at least 3 times that I've been notified and that's been our protocols for a few months.

Just an FYI. I understand it effects everyone differently but my 87 year old mother caught it recently (as we did) and made it fine through this strain. She has a questionable heart but that did not hurt her.

We think we were exposed together 8-9 days at the hospital while visiting another relative. All three of us came down with it within a day. I think the incubation period can be up to 14 days. I know when we tested positive, it was a scary thought but we all took Paxiloid (sp?). It made your mouth taste awful but I do believe it helped.

My advice to everyone is if you think you have it, go to the doctor and start treatment immediately. I had to go back for a secondary sinus infection but we (me, 58, and my wife, 56) were well in 7 days. My mother took about 2 weeks but she is good to go now.

Sidenote: The doctor told me the sinus infection was "part of covid" and would not treat it because of protocol. I really had to be assertive (be an [censored]) to finally get a z pack and I was better in 48 hours. Don't let nature take its course or "listen to take vitamins and drink plenty of fluids". It was really ridiculous what I had to do to get antibiotics.

Wait for symptoms then get tested. A few weeks ago we had lunch with the son and daughter-in-law on a Thursday. She sounded like she had bad allergies. On Saturday she tested positive for the VID. We thought [censored]! However we never had any symptoms after that.

Lots of opinions for sure. We were exposed to family members a few times that had the Chiner, but we were proactive. We dosed with therapeutic medical grade, physician prescribed Ivermectin each time. Never had any severe symptoms. If you don't have a family doc that will do this for you, then maybe a call or visit to your Family Docs would be good. I wouldn't run out and get the test, if you have some symptoms, then treat them.

I question the accuracy of those home tests anyway.

yep, I read a week or so ago that some of them tend to give false negatives (think that was it, maybe positives?).

haven't worried about it since all this bs started, no shots, no mask (except when mandated for service) and may have had it a couple of weeks back. either had the summer cold or the wuhan flu, felt krappy for about 5 days out of 8-9 I was coughing hard, faded away and I feel normal again.

and trebor, you and betty take care.

They aren't too bad. About 70% accurate.

Talked to a few administrative types and both the local major hospitals are about to remove any restrictions on patients and visitors concerning the engineered corona virus and gonna treat it like it was the flu.

IMO each variant becomes less lethal as the virus continues mutating rapidly. I think this thought can be borne out via stats.

Be careful with getting on any "lists". Up your vitamin intakes and possibly some meds in case. Monitor for symptoms

Methodist Hospitals in DFW removed any visitor restrictions a couple months ago.

Wheels off visitor status is back

Thanks to all,

makes us both feel much better, we generally are very careful when out and about. Nice to have a familiar group to be able to bounce things around to , with no family around.

If the sinus infection was in fact from covid, or another virus, then the antibiotics would not treat it directly. However, the antibiotics would help fight anything else that may be going on in your body, thus freeing up your white blood cells to fight the virus and get you better more quickly.
