You’ve been noticeably quiet lately- Fair weather supporter aren’t you-
But you did get that recession you wanted-
We haven’t forgotten that-
What has happed to you does not define who you are-
HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

Raise your hands if all your stocks went up this week, yet you don't like it one bit.

Allison and Donothin, you trust NPR right? I prefer the pre-Biden mean tweet era myself. https://www.npr.org/2022/08/12/1116...ayoffs-economy-jobs-advertising-shoppingAt first look, American companies seem to be doing just fine in the face of high inflation and rising interest rates. But look underneath the surface, and there are potential warning signs about the economy – and it's got the country's top executives feeling a little bit nervous.
So far, 453 of the top 500 companies comprising the S&P 500 have reported earnings and about 75% did better over the April to June quarter than Wall Street expected, according to S&P Dow Jones Indices.
It's a remarkable show of strength given they had to navigate a challenging economic environment — a time when the country was dealing with its highest inflation in around 40 years and the Federal Reserve was hiking interest rates.
U.S. economy just had a 2nd quarter of negative growth. Is it in a recession? ECONOMY U.S. economy just had a 2nd quarter of negative growth. Is it in a recession? The stronger-than-expected earnings, along with hopes the Fed won't be as aggressive with rate hikes going forward, have helped fuel a powerful rally on Wall Street.
But top executives say they are facing lot of uncertainty at a time when there are growing fears of an economic recession. They're not panicking, but they are being careful.
Here are three signs that could point to potential trouble ahead for the U.S. economy.

I seem to recall some people on here a couple of years ago saying you can't judge the economy by the stock market. I wonder when that changed?
And yes, I want the market to go through the roof as soon as possible. But it's still down quite a bit for the year. It's like saying "I'm going to hit you in the face with this tennis racket instead of a 2x4." It's still going to hurt so don't tell me I should be grateful.
"If ever time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." - Samuel Adams

Inflation down, stock market did good. Take another sip of the kool-aid my friend. Avg price for a gal of gas in 2020 was @2.24. In 2021 it went up to $3.28. Today in Texas (according to Gas Buddy) it's $3.44, down from a high of $4.64. So gas is down $1.20/gal. from the high it reached earlier, but up 16 cents from last year, and up $1.20 from 2020. Bought anything in the grocery store lately/ Milk, eggs, bread and damn near everything else is way up (over 10% minimum) compared to a year ago. The narrative from the liberals is going to be how inflation is under control, when in fact is still running rampant when compared to the numbers they had already driven it to in the past two years.
Family is everything! Life is precious. We don’t have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

There were no sellers in the Market today, incredible exponential move up with no back fill. Seems a little insane to me from a Trader point of view, especially for a Friday. All those Buyers holding huge risk for the weekend. It is what it is though, but if this thing breaks early next week with out consolidation it is going to be quick and painful.
