"happiness is Mobile bay in your rearview mirror and having a good rainsuit"....when i did my river trip,crosing, 30 miles of Mobile bay was one of my biggest concerns,fortunately, the day my son and i crossed it, the wind was not bad we were able to hug the eastern shore and duck under boat docks when the rain got really hard....

Never realized the bay was that big .

Was there ever weather so bad you couldn’t continue

3-4 times had to pull into the bank due lightning and/or hard rain….

Last year we got caught in a whopping turd floater while driving in Mobile on our way to Orange Beach. The roads were instantly flooded. No cars could drive in the right lane due to the water depth. Thankfully I was in my 1 ton dually and it was just tall enough to drive in the right lane. I certainly passes a bunch of traffic doing that. The only bad part was that it was raining so hard, you could only see about 10' in front of you.
