There are only four types of venomous snakes in Texas. From markings and lack of rattles it's obviously not a coral snake, copperhead, or rattlesnake. It's not marked like a water moccasin, plus a moccasin would be twice that wide given its length. Eliminating those four tells you it's definitely not a venomous snake.
If a snake isn't venomous I don't worry much about what breed he is. I pulled a kingsnake out of the ditch in front of my house, then let him go. I told my wife I saw him and that if she saw a black snake with yellow dots on him that he is a good snake and to leave him alone. The next day while I was fishing she texted a picture of that kingsnake after she killed him with a hoe. Made me wonder why I bothered.

Hognose / Hoggie. Aka "drama noodle" because of the act they put on playing dead. You can always identify them because drama noodles wear a fancy double breasted coat.

Feel free to prove me wrong. Look closely at the tail and you can see the "double breasted" pattern. This is an extremely light pattern, but also you can see some upturning at the tip of the nose. Your water snakes tend to have something that looks like stitches around their mouths to let you know they're safe.

I'm with Chris B. This is not a Hog Nose. It's a water snake

It looks like part of the monster on Tremors. That was a good movie.
