I just bought one of those one's hop listed for my brother. He's been wanting an affordable AR. that's too good to pass up.
Can you not shoot 5.56 in a 223 wylde chamber? I'll just be mindful of that if it's the case. I think most of what I have is 223 and I only have one bulk box of 5.56, so probably not a big deal. The .223 Wylde will shoot. 223 and 5.56 ammo. A 5.56 chamber will shoot .223 ammo. BUT, DO NOT SHOOT 5.56 AMMO IN A .223 CHAMBER.

Consider a Ruger Mini-14. They are semi expensive compared to a run of the mill AR, but if I remember right, they aren't on the Dem's list to be banned.

I have two BCA builds, one in .223/5.56 WYLDE and one in 7.62x39
Both are very reliable even with Russian ammo . . . .
I would offer $0.25 per round if you would like to sell the ammunition.
PM me if interested.

Short answer no. They will fit, but the .556 cartridge has a higher chamber pressure than the .223 gun is built for. Sort of like a .38 spec and .357 mag. The high pressure gun can shoot the low pressure bullet but not the other way around. You may get away with it once. Maybe a hundred times. But I don’t want to be standing anywhere close when your gun blows up. EDIT: Please read the clarifications on the .223 wylde vs. the regular .223 below. My apologies for any confusion.

.223 Wylde is a hybrid .223/5.56 chamber designed by Bill Wylde to yield the accuracy advantages of the match .223 Remington commercial chambering but without pressure or reliability failures when using high velocity 5.56 NATO spec ammunition. The .223 Wylde achieves better accuracy by having a chamber throat that is tighter than 5.56 but will still function reliably with military 5.56 ammunition as the case dimensions are the same. https://shopwilsoncombat.com/223-Wylde-Barrels/products/395/

I have not seen an AR that won’t shoot 5.56 in a while. Didn’t know that was still a thing.

I believe every law abiding citizen should have an AR. If for no other reason than to make the libs mad.

My rifle doesn't love .223, but my range won't allow FMJ.

I wouldn’t hesitate nor would I recommend 5 56 in a 223 chamber. You can research it and come to your own conclusions. Slight possibility that you could rupture firearm but in reality, it’s less than the pregnant glock cases. I’m a glock fan also!
