Was out Sunday and caught one good sized hybrid and lost a few others. The wind was blowing pretty good, so I wasn't out very long.

I was out on Sunday and could not find the fish. We fished hard with no bits. Even the catfish was not active. I should be good this week-end.

State park and both sides of 2 mile bridge were open as of today (wednesday)
have not been fishing for sandies recently but do have a trip planned for thursday evening and plan to hit the greenville pump station area- catfish were decent on jugs last weekend at the city park cove in 12-16 feet

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Went Sunday and did decent, but it was not on like it was the Sunday before last. Had to work for them, but we had about 35 whites with two nice hybrids and a striper.

The lake is showing to be 2 foot high still. I heard that Holiday was flooded, is that true? Which cove is city park cove? I am pretty familure with the lake and don't remember a city park cove unless you mean the cove over by west tawakoni.

We went out there yesterday evening after work. We launched at Holiday. And were forced to use the lakeside ramp. The inner ramp was flooded way too bad.
As I was being kicked off the trailer I turned on the depthfinder, and it wouldn't work. That'll make you rethink your plans right quick. So after taking it apart and shaking all the water out of it, to no avail, we decided we'd just troll some spots we know well, and see if any surface activity fired up. Well, what fired up was a good ole thunder storm. We just made it into the marina when the north wind blew in, and it blew right in, to the marina. We tied the boat up and watched the storm wondering if it would blow through or not. At one point we walked out the the ramp we had to use , and if we'd have backed the truck in, we'd have been taking waves over the tailgate. So trapped, we had no choice but to ride it out. It finally calmed down enough that we thought we could somewhat safely trailer the boat. I made a final call to my Bro-in-law and he said the radar showed we'd be in the clear.
So we went go fishing. It's now 7;30 pm. Leaving the marina reminded me of being on the gulf. About 2-3' swells, but no wind to blow the tops off of them. Even took a couplle of them over the bow. We idled out to the wolf cove hump (or where we thought it to be), and commenced fishing. We picked up a 4-5 hybrids (kept3), and one small striper. The lake did calm down the longer we were out there. And it was flat calm when we left, at dark 30. Not horrible considering the conditions and complications. It truly sucked not knowing where the fish were, water temp, depth, etc. It was like walking across a football feild in complete darkness. It doesn't really matter where you go, because you can't see where you are. I guess I never realized just how much I relied on that thing.

I guess I'll be buying that Lowrance a little sooner than I had planned. Now I've just got to convince the ol' lady that I should go ahead and get the GPS combo while I'm at it.
