I saw a video of JImmy Houston fishing a scrounger with a skirt on it in front of the fluke. It was an old video but the net result was it looked a lot like a chatterbait! Also, he was fishing it like a wake bait right under surface of the water. Any of you scrounger throwers ever put a skirt on one?

thanks

I've seen these I think on Tacklewarehouse's website. I was curious what they were like. Was the show something he released recently? I record them, is why I'm asking.

Very small and short hook on all that I have ordered:
- Limit your skirt strands
- Order the small diameter rubber skirt rings.
- use glue to keep it up there.
- use a thin body 3.5 inch swilm worm; like the tale off of one. Glue it on also.

Each person you work with holds some promise to your future success.

Mr Houston is the best and was very savvy on what he fished with (lots of chartreuse and white) and how he fished the lure on TV for his show.
Fishing a scrounger jig head with a big skirt just below surface looks great on camera, especially if a big bass can be recorded coming out of cover toward the surface attacking the just subsurface lure. Fishing a scrounger in that manner can certainly work, but the lure historically produces fished slow and subtle in deep clear water for suspended bass.

It wasn't a recent show.. just a video on youtube.
