Can anyone explain how the region tournaments work?
From what I've gathered, you can just be a club member "in good standing" to fish them to qualify to the state tournament. I am considering fishing them next year but don't necessarily want to fish every club tournament. There is very little information on it.

Reach out to your local club to get the details. From what I know, I fished the SE Region a few times and had to be a member of a local club. The club I was in didn't have other tournaments other than the 6 Region tournaments.

You have to be a member of the B.A.S.S. Nation, Texas B.A.S.S. Nation, and a Texas B.A.S.S. Nation affiliated club in order to be eligible to compete in the region events. The winner of each Region Championship makes the following years state team (ex. If you win the Region Championship in 2022 you make the 2023 Texas State Team that competes at the Central Regional Tournament). Each region is slightly different in how an angler qualifies for its championship but most take the top % based off of points from the AOY standings for the Region. Some regions do send teams to the State Championship but most competitors qualify for that through their club.

You need to be a BASS member and a member of a local BASS affiliated club. You are not required by the Nation to fish any of the club's events (the club I'm sure will have some form of required participation for membership)....
Most regions take a certain percentage of anglers based on Points OR they set a min number of qualifiers to fish to qualify.

I am considering fishing them next year but don't necessarily want to fish every club tournament. There is very little information on it. Blazeplatt, TX Bass Ninja is correct, "You have to be a member of the B.A.S.S. Nation, Texas B.A.S.S. Nation, and a Texas B.A.S.S. Nation affiliated club in order to be eligible to compete in the region events." I fish with the Katy Bass Masters and we are affiliated with Texas B.A.S.S. Nation and fish in the SE Region. We have 6 Region events + a Region Championship each year and our first 6 Club events coincide with the 6 Region events so we basically fish two tournaments in one. Depending on the club you join they will have club only events throughout the year for their own respective AOY. You can be in a bass club but do not have to fish in the club portion (or club only events) or you can just come and fish against your club and not be a part of the Region event but you must fish the region event to proceed to the championship and beyond. There are other ways to fish the Nation as in the Team events or the State Club Championship (This is made up of Boaters and Non-Boaters that are sent by each club).
