OK let me put this to bed, Craig Gilbert was not I repeat was not caught cheating. His days catch was disqualified for being in a restricted area in the shade. When I asked him to take a polygraph he said absolutely I’ll take one even said his son would take one. Guys don’t make this into something it’s not. He is allowed to fish our remaining nine events. So if you’re a tournament Director tough man or whatever considering not letting him Fish your Events, I think that’s chickenshit. People get DQ every day at the Sealy tournaments for rule violations and are still allowed to fish those tournaments. It’s totally different from being caught cheating.

So Gilbert broke a state & federal law and DIDN’T report it to the tournament director before he weighed his fish and won the tournament. After the fact it was reported by a competitor that he was in a restricted area and then the director confronted him about it and followed with a DQ.

So “shade” was only found in the restricted area ?

What state and federal law did he break?

Being inside a posted restricted keep out area. Video documentation was giving to the tournament director and Gilbert stated he was in there trying to find some shade.

I don't have a stake in this debate, however; I am assuming he is referring to Corps of Engineers Rules and Regulation 327.3(C) Maybe the original member that quoted those alleged violations will confirm.

What’s strange is you ban a man for making comments on social media but you catch a man doing wrong in a tournament and you get onto a forum and take up for someone that was caught and in numerous instances has has questionable abnormally successful career in ONE lake in particular. Makes no sense.
