Does anybody use spinning gear on a flyrod and if so what kind of flyrod do you use?

I do. As a matter of fact, I did so just this morning. Most of my fishing is fly fishing but my wife loves to eat Crappie. I can catch them in shallow water on clousers in the Spring but the only way I know how to catch them in Summer is in deep water on brushpiles. So when my wife asks for Crappie for dinner in Summer I rig up a Cabellas, Three Forks, 9 foot - six weight with a Quantam Micro spinning reel, loaded with 4 pound test and a jig that I tie. Then I jig brushpiles and hope for the best. I personal don't think the brand of rod makes much difference. Any decent 5 or 6 weight should do. I like a nine foot rod because I can anchor lock my boat over a brushpile and jig all around the boat without having to move around much. Hope this helps and, hopefully they don't kick me off the fly fishing section.😁
