Looking to fish Lake Grapevine for Smallmouth with anyone with a boat. Never have fished off a boat and have never caught a smallmouth either so I'm trying to do both. I'm also interested in anyone renting their boats (Slipped / docked on lake) so I can do it solo, or cheap (Below $200) guides to catch smallmouth. I've only ever bank fished in small urban ponds in the metroplex and have caught a decent amount of largemouth and want to try something new. PM me or comment below, thanks!

Send me an IM, if your local and interested in borrowing a kayak i have a spare older model old town (similar to a camden) kayak. The kind you sit inside. It has seen better days, but it works. You can launch at katy woods and fish the dam, and the area between the dam and katy woods. To be honest, if your not fishing the dam it greatly decreases the chances. It's like this, if you go out and try to only catch a smallie on GV you will prob catch largemouth. If you just go out and fish, you will occasionally pick up a smallie out there. Forget sat & sun as the wake boats will drive you mad. But, if your interested shoot me an IM and I can give you some independence to spend some time out on the water. I can supply a kayak, life vest, and a single paddle ( not the double). But the double paddles are cheap if you want to pick one up. I fish GV about 3-4 days a week, so I can try to point you in a direction. But if it were me, i wouldn't leave the dam.

Prosise

I’d take that offer above if I were you. Asking to borrow a man’s boat is worse than asking to borrow his wife. Asking for a ride in someone’s boat might happen, if you paid the expenses for the day.

You got balls though. I’ll give ya that.

Good advice above for the smallmouth bite at Grapevine. Rocks and more rocks.
