Been a Pellet guy (not low T pellets) for a few years now and love my pellet grill but I recently bought an egg (the one from Brady auction) and that thing is really pretty cool to cook on. It’s the mini max , I can already tell I am going to have to get a bigger one.

What size do the the eggers think is ideal ?

we have the extra large and it will cook for a bunch of folks.

could do 3 briskets on it if needed.

bigger is better.

I have the XL and it is just The Boss and I. Rib Rack holder and chicken leg holder are two great accessories.

Ideal is the large. Even for a family of 5 I do just fine with the large. If you are doing more than 1 brisket at a time fairly often I would go with XL.

I cook on mine probably 4 times a week year round. There is a learning curve with them and some people just never get it. If your going to use it to smoke with I would get an XL. I have a large and it is perfect for all but smoking large quantities. Being that you already have a mini max I would probably lean towards an XL.

Few years ago I loaded my large on a Saturday about 7pm. Threw on a brisket and pulled it off Sunday. Monday morning getting ready for work I noticed thin blue smoke on the patio. Figured I would just let it burn out while at work. Tuesday morning noticed the same thing. Went out to the patio and it was at 225.

Get at least a Large, extra Large would be better.

You're going to love the Egg.

Any smaller than the XL will hurt you when cooking for a small group.

My son did the same thing. I used to want one, but I stuck with my offset. You used to never see one for sale in any classifieds, but they are pretty common now days.

I would still get one if I could buy one on the cheap. yes

I got an XL that came with my house when I moved in. You need to understand that this thing is a beast and once you set it you will have to make some plans and preparations to move it. If you get the 2 tier rack it sure helps expand your capacity. With the large, two briskets is a pretty tight fit. With the XL and the 2nd tier rack I believe I could fit 4 briskets if I wanted.

Another great accessory is the EGG Genious, or a Flame Boss. This is a fan that is plugged in to the intake and stokes the fire as necessary to maintain constant temp. The Flame Boss 500 can connect to WiFi. You can have 4 different meat probes plus the grill probe, and can adjust your grill temp from anywhere.
