So we have some deer that are pretty big pets. You can’t touch them but they ok at 5’.
Problem is with the drought they have started eating plants and shrubs around the house. Can’t shoot them and put them in the freezer, so that’s not an option.
I sprayed the plants with malathion this morning and if it lasts a week, I will spray them again next weekend. Has anybody had any good luck with any chemicals to keep deer from eating plants and shrubs???
(Besides lead)…….lol.

buy some corn or protein and just pour it on the ground away from the shrubbery.

My front, and rear yards, look like I am running sheep or goats from all of the deer droppings everywhere.

Lol…..That’s what got us here, live in the city limits and we accumulated 17 deer at one time. Only have a couple of them left that return in the middle of the night. It like raccoons and there babies it’s great until it’s not. Thanks for the solutions, keep them coming.

I agree with a net, just wait for them to gather then drop the net on them. Watch the show as they try to get out.

Our neighbors just got a cow and a calf. This morning the calf was in our back yard grazing. I wondered how it got there until I saw it casually walk over and jump the fence. I obviously underestimated the vertical lift of calves.
It's fine for now, but if it finds its way to my wife's flower beds there's gonna be trouble.

Abundance of cottontail rabbits around here this year which was fine til they started eating the blooms off my wife's lantanas. Removed 3 of them one morning and the rest seemed to have got the hint and left. I live in the country though so dealing with wildlife problems is a lot simpler

Did you try:
Use bars of Irish Spring soap for your deer problem and they'll go away, Just use a grater and shave the bars of soap into slivers to scatter about your garden, flowerbeds or the stems of the hostas. The deer will no longer approach because the soap has such a strong scent.

Deer FencingI put this up to stop the deer from browsing on our shrubs. They'll try anything in a drought! It's worked to keep them away from the shrubs -- doesn't look pretty, however it works.
