The drought has really affected this old quarry in San Antonio, the water has dropped at least 6’ in the past few months. Still managed to catc( a few though! How has the drought affected your summer so far?

Wouldn't the fishing still be the same if the quarry had not gone down 6 feet?

The fish are still there, the banks are relatively the same up and down the sides.

Fish still eat.

If the water level is down, but all other things the same, how might the fishing be different?

Teach me! I want to learn!

Addendum: It looks fun regardless! IN65

I personally have done well in fishing holes that were drying up. Caught plenty of nice fish over the years. For me it seems that the fish especially the bigger ones are more spooked and stressed when the water levels are dropping. The decline in the oxygen level plays a factor as well. Bigger fish become less active during the day light hours and are hiding under rocks or other cover. When they do decide to bite you can catch some nice ones, especially if the water body has a drop off. God has his plans and for the most part it seems that most fishing holes make a good comeback when they start filling up again. Just my two cents. 2cents

With it being so low its a great time to mark spots and maybe plant some brush. When the water comes back up you will have some useful insights!

I agree the fish would still be there, but it seems like they were VERY skittish, may have more to do with the hot weather tho!
