XL is softer and has more stretch, I see it as a beginners line for those learning a bait caster as it won’t back lash as easily as a stiffer line like big game or much stiffer like fluoro.

Mono is basically mono. They’re both cheap. Buy both and pick the one you like.

I use both lines. In my opinion, both are good but the Big Game gets too much memory too quickly.

Stretchiest to least stretchy (in the Trilene family): Sensation—->XL—->Big Game—->XT
Least stretchy (XT) will tend to be more abrasion resistant, but more prone to memory.
Big Game would get my vote, especially when considering the low price.
XL is softer and more supple (less memory prone); but I’d consider it a panfish/crappie line.
LMB have sharp upper jaws and can bite right through XL

What are y’all using mono for? Cranks and topwaters. And c-rig leaders

For hard baits its Big Game. For T-Rig and weightless rigs its XL and it aint even close! You will see far more bites on a weightless rig if your line is limp instead of a coiled mess like Big Game.

For a weightless or Tx rig, use quality flouro. All the difference in the world over ANY mono.

How would one rate the Berkley 100% professional grade flouro?

I have never seen a flouro as limp as XL. Not even the super expensive stuff.
