What y’all’s thoughts on the best metroplex lake to get on an early topwater bite at the moment?

90+ degree surface temps are not really good for a top water bite.
April-June or late Oct-Nov seem the best windows for top waters in N Texas

Lavon... the fish are nomadic roaming chasing bait...they get in with the white bass and heard the bait to the surface, the trick is to be at the right place at the right time, once the sun gets up and the bait balls go down it is still going on down there...there are some good ones in there... just kidding, there are no fish in that lake, go try Lewisville...

lake arlington at 6:30am on the dam... Tried dam at first light with poppers and Sammy’s….nada Did catch a couple decent ones on shakey heads on docks

I throw topwaters all day during the summer. Morning or noon fish will eat them.
PK can be a great all day topwaters lake. Not all fish go deep.
Retirement best job ever.

Gonna commit. Just got back from a smallmouth trip that was best topwater of my life. In the right places LMB can’t be that different

Gonna commit. Just got back from a smallmouth trip that was best topwater of my life. In the right places LMB can’t be that different Where did you go for the smallie trip?

Ray Roberts was good 3 weeks ago. From sun up to about 11 am, fished the trinity arm with a buzzbait.
