One things for sure..... These fish are several times more aggressive and also more spooky at night....
Only a few of these were caught at night as it was only a early before daylight trip.... Windy conditions have proven to be a hard night of fishing unless you find some flat water so there's NO boat slap....

Just before daylight 4am-5am ALL the fish I'm seeing start the transition back to structure and I've set on a few piles and pan my livescope and see several fish coming into the pile from different directions.....
After daylight I haven't seen or found any crappie in open water.....They will still feed on the structure but most very lightly hit the jigs, some are not interested and I'm thinking those fed heavy in the dark.......
I've also found that a lot of the fish prefer the darkness but also have found some that seek docks with lights and hang on the outer edges of the lights.....

with these bright moon nights, and the positioning of the fish in a diagonal orientation looking up, theres likely alot of fish feeding on the shad in the upper water column that are attracted to the moon light.
so in a nutshell, you have identified a pattern..
when the moon phase changes and theres not much moonlight, your going to see something very different.
the fish will school up alot more and concentrate in certain areas more heavily.
and I think the statement that the crappie that trickle in to the brushpiles at daybreak that are not interesting in biting, are indeed crappie that fed heavily that night.. they are resting in groups, digesting food and waiting for the nightfall to come around again so they can go do the same thing they did the night before..
day fishing after bright, clear moonlit nights are notoriously tough on the lakes I fish.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
