tpwd is in charge of the fishing, north texas water district is in charge of the lake and water levels.

as far as I know it will be like fork or any other public body of water.

don't think there will be a marina on it either, not sure though, have not heard of one.

dumps into the red just about 2 miles from me.

not gonna see any serious rain till we get a tropical system come up from corpus, maybe later this month or august but for now evaporation is gonna drop it some.

doubt it opens before dec. earliest and more likely into feb/mar.

I live over near Cooper Lake and have for nearly two decades. This time of year and especially when it's hot as it is Cooper will give up an inch or two every day; plus what the pumps take.
We own a swimming pool and since this heat wave hit we've been having to replace about 5 to 10% of the water weekly, that kind of gives an idea of what stress the lakes are under. That happens every summer.
It will take a while for The D'arc to fill up. If history repeats its self these long periods of tripple digit heat are usually followed by some really rainy periods, the kind that produces major flooding. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was going over the spillway in early spring.

There is 7’6” pipeline just almost complete to McKinney . They will suck all the water out of it if needed . Nothing we as fisherman can do .

Is Lake Bohnam connected to Bois D’Arc by a dam?

The solution to any problem - work, love, money, whatever - is to go fishing, and the worse the problem, the longer the trip should be. --John Gierach

I put a lot of work into making a mapping aid for when the lake opens. Can't wait to fish it once it opens.
