People ask me what am I fishing for. I have answered the same way since I started fishing. Fish braa, whatever is biting......

I mean I traveled 90% of the the year for work when I did work and always packed and pole with tackle. Would try any hole with water. Now retired I fish any lake any day anywhere. If I gotta drive and stay the night, launch fish in the morning...no problem...I just fish old fashion way. Pole with bait and I'm casting front or back of boat with different shtuff.

Lately into stripe bass, hybrids bass, white bass....bass...not many people just like fishing...., throwing a pole in with some kind of bait depending on where you at. Would like to do some night fishing..... retiring is not good for fishing with people...most aren't retired.

Too bad you're too far out from San Antionio. I'm in the same boat. Retired and nothing to do but fish. I'm getting out a bit but it's always nice to have a partner who just likes to fish and most importantly has the patience to stay in one spot and not run around and shotgun the area when they aren't getting a bite.

I've gone out to Calaveras Lake twice in the last month on a friend's boat. Pretty good fishing lake. My friend targets catfish and we do ok for catfish. Never bank fished from there though. I've been exploring the Guadalupe River on the West side of Canyon Lake at Ramp 11. Very fishy water but bank access is very limited so I bought a stand-up paddleboard to use in the creeks and rivers to gain more fishing real estate and it works pretty well.

I am in the same way. Retired, and love to fish and hunt. 90% of the time, I fish alone. Except for launching and loading, don't really mind. But its always more fun with more. If you ever travel northwest, give me a shout. I fish pk most, but also granbury, proctor, Hubbard creek. My old bass boat, is like me, kinda wore out but still gets me by.
