What’s bad is when you carry 24 of the exact brand and series of rods and reels. The way I overcome this with with different colored rod socks for different technique rods.

My rods and reels are technique specific along with the line. Crankbaits = 12 lb, weightless plastics = 15 lb, spinnerbaits/chatterbaits = 17 lb, jigs/c-rig/flippin/t-rig = 20 lb. These are all florocarbon. Spinning reels are 20 lb braid with 10 lb floro leader and top water rods are 65lb braid.

My rods and reels and line are just like a Norelco Electric shaver...no matter what you turn the dial to, it cuts your face to shreds....

I just remember. After years and years, it’s easy to tell. This. Plus based on the rod and reel setup I can usually tell pretty easily. I only use 3 sizes of flouro on my baitcasting combos, only 1 size on my lone spinning combo. I only use 2 sizes of braid and two sizes of money on a handful of vaitcasters. I don't carry 27 different line sizes and types. No need for me to.

I have started to learn that I really only use 4 line sizes so it's pretty easy for me.
BFS / Drop Shot = 20 lb braid to 10 lb flouro
Squarebill / Light t-rig = 12 lb flouro
Topwater = 50 lb braid
All else = 14 lb flouro
Although, I'm experimenting with 16lb on my jig rod, just to see if I like it.
This but 15 invisx

Back in my earlier days I used one size line for everything on bait casters and another size on spinning tackle so I didn't worry about this way back when. Today with all the techniques I've found myself running 3 or 4 different kind of line and I litterally couldn't tell you on most of my reels what is on them for sure.

What label maker are you using to make the labels? I'm not familiar with any label makers.

I've always had an excel spreadsheet with rod, reel, line size, and date re-spooled. I update it whenever I re-spool and email it to myself. I used to reference it on the water as needed, but like others have said, you get to a point where you just know what size line you have on which rod/reel combo. I still reference it when wondering how old the line on a particular reel is.

If its fluro its 12, 16, or 20. Braid is 20, 40, 50. I can tell them apart by just looking but I also know what rod is for what.

What about 25lb fluorocarbon? I use it in my heavy cover/clear water dock flipping setup and also as a leader on my 1oz deep ledge Carolina rig.

^^^^ well according to you, you remember what you have on your 30+ exact same set ups, so what does it matter? I don’t use 25 lb floro.
