I'm looking for highly recommended BBQ joints near Lake fork. The best I've found so far is Marshall's in Emory. Anybody have any suggestions?

quitman, red trailer parks in front of police station, just north of the electric coop. have been told he knows what he is doing. I haven't been able to catch it there to try tho.
I have been meaning to try big smiths just south of sulphur springs on 154, always see a bunch of customers.

Burgins is good when it's open. It's only takeout. Look for the flag. 515 and 2946.

Okay here is the low down.. Marshall"s in Emory is pretty good, the sliced sandwich is large and tasty you have to ask for pickles and onions the ribs are a b+ . their sides are just ok.. Burgins (out of emory near lake on 515) is okay it is a trailer set up and have found the sliced sandwiches contain too much fat and I like mine pretty fatty. Duncans has changed hands recently so get updated reviews. Brisket love (Mineola) is really good brisket. It is very pricey and the ribs here again are about a B . Their is a another BBQ in Emory( closer to 19) this it is called west ??? It has sliced ham and the brisket is B-. However they have Pittsburgh hot links,, I like them and it is an acquired taste. They have baked potatoes which also is a plus for me.. There is another place in Mineola Danny's i think . It is ok as well used to have an all you can eat option and i thought it was a good value. Brisket is a B and tends to be dry sauce required. Big Smiths is just at the edge of Sulpher springs. The best here is the beef ribs they are large and flavorful. It can be a hit and miss if you are lucky and get the big ribs two will do you. Not lucky it might take 4. They have all you can eat options on I think Thursday and Saturday evenings. Free peanuts while waiting for your ribs and baked potatoes are an option. You have Stanley"s in Tyler but that is getting out of the area we are discussing. There is a place on 17 by the lake can't think of the name of it. It is a daytime plate lunch place that was once a BBQ place. They say they have the best ribs yada yada but I have never tried them and don't trust par-time bbq places.

oh forgot to comment on Red Dome. I believe the buffet referred to earlier is on Friday night and has been discontinued, They occasionally have the ribs on there Sunday buffet, The bbq here is okay there are good spices on the ribs and chicken, but i wouldn't drive here for the BBQ alone. tends toward dry and greasy, but this may be the result of sitting on the buffet line. I never just ordered it on it's on.. The Friday seafood buffet was darn good. they had the best fried frog legs and the shrimp was quality as well.. sigh tis no more..

Thanks for the low down olducker. The other place in Emory you mentioned is Wild West BBQ and I agree; its only a B.
