Day one in the books. Unfortunately, no fish landed. I did hook a Permit, just long enough to turn him and as soon as he started taking line, the hook pulled. I hate reporting this because it sounds like "the big one that got away" fisherman's excuse story. But the truth is, that's what happened. I did get to be poled around some of the most beautiful flats I have ever been on. Saw lots of Barracuda, rays and a few Bonefish. Even took a shot at a pair of really big bones but I flubbed the cast and that was that. About to go crawl back in my seaside hammock and nap it off. Have one more chance at them on Friday. Maybe, maybe...
