Need a place in Rockport that is on the water front, pier, and pool preferably. Any suggestions?

depending on your budget check out these hotels, Lighthouse Inn, Inn at Fulton Harbor, Laguna Reef, Hunts Castle, or if your looking for cottages check these out, Balboa Courts, Sea Gun cottages, Bahia Vista, Little Bay cottages, or just go to the commerce website at www.rockport-fulton.org and you can navigate from there.

Thanks but I was kinda hoping for personal expierence. Who has the best lighted pier at night, things like that. Sorry for not being more specific in original post.

The Copano Bay Pier and Fulton Pier are both will lit. I've caught lots of Specs under the lights at both. I've also seen big black drum pulled from both as well.

do you think the deep sea fishing will be good mid-september in the rockport area. Are the piers close to the lighthouse Inn. What do you need to catch fish off of the piers as far as baits and hooks etc.

Here is report from one of my friends about http://www.huntscastle.com/"Man was the bite on. The bite under lights on a pier at night was awesome. The day bite was slow. I saw several guides who were catching a lot of trout in 10 ft of water over an oyster bed. I did manage to catch over 300 trout fishing at night. The majority was under size fish but I did catch a lot of keeper fish this trip. I didnt bring any home it was catch and release only. I do it for the fun and fun it was." and "The place is called Hunt's Castle, and yes they have their own pier for the guest only. I've been going to this place for many many years. They have the longest wooden pier in Rockport to fish from. It is a little pricey, swimming pool, hot tub, and all that good stuff, but we like it. We always get a room on the third floor that over looks the bay. The bay is only about twenty to thirty yards from the room. There is always a nice little cool breeze coming off the water while you are having your early morning coffee sitting in these huge rocking chairs they have on the deck. It has everything we need to enjoy a few days down there. It is also a very family oriented place which is even better."

hey Sooners,
I fish the bays in Rockport quite a bit and have only limited offshore experience there...however, from what I know, June thru Sept are probably the best months for offshore (of course, weather permitting)...the piers mentioned above are very close to the Lighthouse...the Fulton pier is maybe a block or two away, and the Causeway is maybe a 5-10 minute drive...the latter has two sides (it's the old highway bridge that spans Aransas and Copano Bays)..it's split in the middle so shrimpers can pass through..try both sides of this pier, but I've had better luck on the Lamar side (opposite side from Rockport).

My wife and I spend 4 days at the Lighthouse Inn last fall and really enjoyed the experience. The rooms and service was exceptional. Has a great bar and is right on the water. Get a room facing the bay, you will have a spectacular view. It is also very convenient. We booked a guide trip and the guide got us a discounted rate at the Lighthouse, so it never hurts to ask the guide if he has a deal with them.
Enjoy your trip to Rockport. We sure did.

i reccommend using kahle hooks for reds and trout use the stainless size 4 or 2, fish them under popping bobbers aside from that all your freshwater rods & reel will work just fine- be sure to rinse them with freshwater after you'r trip. for bait just buy live shrimp, everything will bite that.

Has anyone stayed at the Drifter's Resort in one of their cabins? We're planning a trip and were thinking about this place.
