I know most guys cuss when they think about catfishing in June. It is a challenge to be sure but you can still catch fish. Today being July 1st, I know a lot of guys are looking forward to the spawn being over and the bite getting stronger. Well, today was a pretty good indication to me that the post spawn bite is starting. I pulled out of the slip at about 5:20 this morning. Threw the net 4 times and had plenty of good size gizzards. Headed east and started soaking baits. Bite was good and steady. Got to the point I could only keep 2 planer boards on with two long lines and two shorts. Bite stayed good all morning. Fish were still biting when I had to head for the barn... Boated 15, I think. 6 fish between 10 and 15 pounds. Total weight just over 100 pounds for the trip. And as we all like to say, it's only going to get better from here... God Bless and Tight Lines... ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/07/full-115968-144790-20220701_091338.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/07/full-115968-144791-20220701_115659.jpg)

I'll be out next week givin em heck I appreciate the vote of confidence Nick! lol... But, I think it might have just been good timing. The bite stayed good all morning, like I said, they were still biting when I left. That's hard to do. I do think the spawn is all but over. As early as the water warmed up in May, I think they started a week or 10 days early too. Get out there and get some while the gettin is good!

Very very nice Tim, I appreciate the update I have been too busy with family stuff and trips out of town to get anything but a quick boat ride and a couple of bobbers / jugs out at a time lately
Hopefully soon I’ll have a little more time also Very nice fish sir

I still can't believe you snagged those gizzard shad so easily! I must have done something terrible in a former life because my arms were sore throwing that dog darn cast net last week 36,000 times. Nice job on those blues, Tim. The big question is, when are those big toads gunna start feeding again????????
