We have a bird feeder and can’t get any birds to show up. We added a bird bath. Only drew in one bird. Any ideas on how to draw in more than just this one bird?

We had better success with straight sunflower seeds. Cardinals love em.

We have lots of cardinals this year. Dont use wild bird mix just black sunflowers and suet grates. And 5 or 6 hummer feeders. They all get along and we have 2 bluebird boxes on the fence. Some painted buntings have shown up also. We have 3 cats but they usually dont stalk the birds. Too lazy! lol

This works for us, till the Coons found our back yard this week. They destroyed a couple hummingbird feeders and got all of the bird feed in one night. Time for war!!

What has happed to you does not define who you are-

HOW you react to what happens to you DOES!

The coons will dump the seeds and get after the suet but they dont mess with the Hummer juice. The ants are the biggest problem on Hummers but I try to keep the moats full of water on top of the feeders!

We used to draw all sorts of birds. I guess this hawk figured out about the buffet. We still get a few birds but find feathers everywhere about once a month.

Really? I have a coon that pours out the hummingbird feeders on our back deck all the time. I ordered an extended hanger to try on one feeder thinking if I got it further from the deck railing he couldn't reach it. Didn't work. Then yesterday, I hung it on the extended hanger with fishing line thinking if he somehow shimmied the pole, he wouldn't be able to get to the feeder that was hung 4' below the hook. He got to it. Trying to come up with a new plan now.

This started happening year before last. Never been a problem in the past. It will probably eventually end with me staying up late and giving the problem a permanent solution.

Shoot some of them and throw them out on the open ground and you can draw buzzards!

Mix your own feed.. get a sack of the cracked corn with maize, a sack of sunflower seeds, and a sack of dry dog food. throw out about 2 lbs of it mixed under your bird feeder and get your camera ready. Blue jays will eat the dog food and sunflower seeds, dove the maize and corn, woodpeckers the sunflower seed, cardinals the sunflowers and corn, and the squirrels the sunflowers. Once they get used to it they'll come by and check it out every day.
