Our septic tank seems to get full quicker than any other aeroseptic we have owned. We pumped it out last year and I noticed our sprinklers repeatedly going off in the middle of the day. I opened it up and tank was full of sludge to top. Is one year normal?

It was recommended we have ours pumped once a year. I was unaware until this last pumping.

we had it pumped the 2nd time a few months ago. Only twice since 2006..... ewwwwww.

both times there was only about a foot of sludge in each tank. This last time I observed the terd herder in action. He completely pumped and scrapped tanks 1 and 3. He got all the sludge form tank #2 and left about 12" of water in the bottom for the aerator.

I was told with our aerobic septic system, if you have to pump it regularly then something is certainly off. As long as you don't flush the non-septic cleaners, paper products, etc...it should be able to handle itself.

We've been using our system since we moved here in 2019. We only had to pump it once due to a lightning strike that totaled our controller. We hadn't noticed for a few weeks when I started to see the water bubbling out of the last tank and the sprinklers not running the day after the storm. $750 later, we were back in the poo business.

Sounds like something is not working correctly in the system.

Is the air bubbler working? Without circulation it doesn't compost efficiently. Secondly, our installer told me the liquid fabric softer used in the washing machine was the worse. Had to limit it to one load a day. In 10 years I only had it pumped out one time.

We just got ours pumped out after 12 years, and I could have waited a few more but I had some repairs to make and this simplified my repairs.
