PK striper fishing is still really good. I took my neighbor out last Saturday, because he just retired and wanted to fish. I told him we'd get a double limit and only be out about and hour and a half ( 30 min for bait and an hour to limit out) . Ended up being more like two hours as it took me longer to get bait. These stripers are too small to take the big Gizzard shad right now and I don't see a single school of threadfins down lake. Takes me a while to catch a couple dozen perch.

He took these pics as I had to leave them with him to clean them, as I had to go to a wedding with the Bluegrass band. Took him a long time to clean them, but I'm sure he'll get faster as he gets more experience in retirement. His wife was shocked at how much fish they ended up with. They did enjoy the Blackened striper recipe I gave them.

Had to catch and release two more as I got two bites at the same time right after he caught the last one. Once the sun goes down the bite is very fast, and any small bait is not long for this world when you drop them down in to a school of stripers.


The big ones are in the 24-25 inch range with the smallest ones at 18.

MW, I hope so. I have another friend coming out today wanting to catch some. I do really hate fishing on the weekend, but that is when people who are not retired are able to go. I'll just have to brave the wake boats, grandkid pullers and jet fleas and hope I can make it across the lake in one piece.

Be quick on the trolling motor PK, I find myself getting pretty good at that these days. Last Sunday I had a big wave off of. Tige boat break over the front of my 22’ bay boat. Not the first time it has happened.

TCK73, those Wake boats are a plague.

Start fishing before 6 am, cuz the crowds are still hung over and won't be on the lake till 9:30 ish or later. I'm done by then. !!
