I enjoy yard work in the mid day heat. Good workout. Just got done mowing myself. My wife is sick with covid and having problems sleeping. I gotta go against the grain on this one. Someone fired up a mower next door to me at 6 this morning they would have gotten an arse chewing. Im always awake early as well as her but anything before 7 is rude. You don't know if people work nights, are sick, elderly, its just common courtesy.... 7 am is common courtesy and our cities ordinance any way. Why 7am and not 8am? Who decides this arbitrary time? Why is 7am better for you? What makes your sleep schedule a priority that the rest of the neighbors should follow your schedule? I’m curious. I go to sleep at 9 most nights I don’t like hearing neighbors partying, yet I realize my schedule isn’t the same as theirs. I try not to shine my headlights at their windows at 4am, while hooking up the boat…should I wait till 7am?

So I see the neighbor late yesterday afternoon and he starts walking over to talk to me. I think to myself, here we go. He says he wants to apologize for his lawn man trying to mow at 6 AM and that he would never ever sanction that. I said the funny thing is, I was about to apologize to you. We start talking and I told him I had posed the situation to an Internet group I participate with and that a good deal of them thought I was in the wrong for telling the lawn man that we try to show courtesy to the neighbors around here. He also laughed after I told him my lawn man tried to do the exact same thing the next morning.
He gets a good chuckle and says he also posed the question to and Internet group he participates with. While it wasn’t his idea, he said his group grilled the lawn man for trying to mow at 6 AM.
I guess all is well that ends well and everybody around here agrees that courtesy amongst neighbors is always a good thing. However, the never ending battle of being able to be as righteous and perfect as Mark Perry and Steez McQueen is one we will fight to our dying day. With God’s help, we’ll get there.

To be completely honest I'm surprised that there is anyone in grand prairie home at 6am to get mad about a mowing crew because I thought everyone in grand Prairie worked on a mowing crew..... who knew They expanded south. It got better.

I do find it funny where the narrative was changed to me being “outraged” about the lawn guy wanting to start at 555am. It was always an issue of courtesy amongst neighbors. Anything other than that is typical TFF dog piling, of which I’ve been guilty of many many times over the years. I saw where I was even labeled as a KARL, which I believe is what you guys used to label the liberal people or something along those lines. It’s always funny to see the assumptions and generalizations and different opinions.

You and your neighbor are both wrong for chastising and/or thinking that mowing early is wrong.
You consider the "sleep" of the people, and yes, it is important. "I would NOT want to be awakened by a mower or blower early in the morning." However, if I was, I'd understand that my winky winks can take a bit of disturbance for a man working outside my house "once a week." ...and there's a good chance it wouldn't wake me up if I was trying to sleep.
I consider "blue collar" workers who are out in the elements, doing whatever minimal preparation necessary to "help get through the day's elements."
Would you chastise a man working in the dead of Winter for wearing gloves?
No, therefore, a man/crew wanting to start early, 5 days a week, each day in a different circle or street, that might, "might" wake up neighbors to the sound of "machinery." To me, starting early when you have a physically demanding job, is equivalent to "wearing gloves outside in the Winter." It helps! The poor things, how dare a blue-collar worker start an engine at 6!
Blessings to us all with opinions. That's all they are...have a good one forum brothers!
Addendum: If I had a yard guy who wanted to do my yard at 6 am, and my neighbor ran him off, the neighbor and I would NOT be exchanging pleasantries that evening. He'd know to "mind his own business and worry about his own yard guy, if he had one." If my neighbor decided to "teach me a lesson" and start mowing or sawing next to my house at 6 am on a Saturday morning, "but he actually had hard work to do," I wouldn't mind, and I'd be understanding. I know what it's like to work in brutal Texas heat!

Yet, you are "inconvenienced" once a week for 30 minutes.
I understand.
Have a good one Mr. Rescue Fire.

I’ve never met an elderly old that slept past 6? Why do you have a teacher?
