The summer of 2011 was a MFer... I remember the lows at night around here being in the upper 80's - low 90's.

This doesnt even scratch what the summer of 1980 was. They had a death toll because all the elderly who had no AC were passing away.

I remember 1980 Summer very well and most nights during the Rangers games in the old, old Stadium they would report the temp was still 100 degrees at the end of the game.
We seem to be on-track for a 1980 or 2011 summer
I believe there were 50 or more home games when it was over a 100 when first pitch was thrown And in that old stadium there was a big sign in right field that had the current temp on it. It was put there intentionally to face the 3rd base dugout where the visiting team had to look at it all night.
Family is everything! Life is precious. We donโt have forever. We have now. This moment. We can choose to love our lives now.

We (the ex & I, two kids, two cars & 1 dog) moved down in (February) winter of 1979. From Pennsylvania. Little did we know that we would arrive smack dab in the middle of TWO ice storms. Could not beg, borrow or bribe a REALTOR to come show us a property for four days.
Came the summer of '80 and Mother Nature said "Here Yankee, see what you think of this"
Never looked back, proud to have spent 30+ years in D/FW, but also enjoyed 98f here today. (in the Northwoods of Wisconsin).
P.S. She walloped me with a heck of a winter, 10+ weeks without running water in my cabin. Frozen water in the lines, will fix before Thanksgiving.
Happy to live in the NorthWoods now in my own little cabin.

The summer of 2011 was a MFer... I remember the lows at night around here being in the upper 80's - low 90's. 1998 wasn't too pleasant either. I was on a Webelos summer camp at Clements scout ranch south of Athens herding a bunch of 10 year old boys. Sleeping in tents up in the pine trees where not a breath of wind could move. The days were all 104 or more, and the nights didn't get below 100 until after 2 AM. Sides and both ends rolled up on the tents and laying on top of a sleeping bag on a cot. Only way I could sleep at all was with a battery powered fan blowing right on my face and bathed in 79% DEET mosquito repelent. Most miserable sleeping while camping I have ever done in my life.
