It’s kind of all the same to me. If you handed me three rods with fins, pp, and 832 I doubt I could tell any difference. Someone recommended fins years ago for my saltwater spinning reels. When I got into bass fishing I can’t remember why I went with anything different but I probably just went with what I found easily.

So its not exactly like Slick 8...but Im liking it. I definitely feel it has a better feel to it than regular power pro, but just a tiny bit less supple than slick 8. bought 2 600 yard spools and gonna try them for a couple seasons. Lets see what its like after use. Im liking it so far though just off feel.

Just ordered a spool of 832 Cuz It was cheaper. I figured braid is braid. FYI, I no longer figure Braid is Braid. Have a rod with Seaguar TactX. Stuff is terrible. Used like twice and had lost almost all color and zero slickness. Noisy. Like winding in a literal rope.

I dont mind the decision....even though I think i still like the slick 8 just a little more.

I prefer slick 8 to 832 for most applications; and it’s not close.
832 is stiffer/more wiry and tends to dig into the spool easier.
Slick 8 is softer/more supple, quieter, and smoother through the guides.
832 will tie a very good line to line knot—really digs into the leader. It also slices vegetation really well
I’d be happy using 832 for frogs and flipping around thick grass and pads. Spot on ^^^^^^^ That is the first time I have heard anyone say braid is "stiff". 832 is fantastic line.

Just bought a spool of 65lb 832. You can hold the end about 5” back and it’ll stick straight out. Braid is stiff. Smoother than the [censored] I had though. It went on my punching/frog rod. New 50lb Power Pro slick 8 went on my Chatterbait rod. It’s slicker and less stiff than the 832.

Matters to me what I spend my money on and I wind on all day. Is that ok? Does It offend you that someone said braid is stiff?

I like the 832 for heavy cover reeds, grass, pads sticks etc.. Slick 8 or seaguar smackdown for everything else (although my last spool of smackdown is not the same as all my previous spools I dont like it)

I like Suffix 832, Fins Windtamer, Power Pro slick and Diawa J. Braid in that order. Throw 30# 832 on bait cast in saltwater and 20# 832 on spinning. I always throw bait caster. The spinning rods are my wife’s and I use them for others who don’t throw a bait caster. Usually use a 20 or 25# mono Big Game Leader. Might tie directly to lure in less than clear water.
I have a big spool of 832 30#. When I went to put 20# line on the Spinning Rods for a company tournament this week I didn’t have any 20#. J Braid was a bunch cheaper so that’s what I put on them. At he end of the day I don’t think it makes all that much difference. J Braid is a little less smooth. I caught Peacocks on 80# J braid in Brazil. I could throw all the line off the spool of the Shimano Mentanium if I wanted to.
Don’t throw much in freshwater on braid. Frog, Flutter spoon, chatter bait and some top water. Big Game Mono for everything else. I don’t like fluorocarbon.
Braid to mono I tie a double uni. I like the FG knot way better but eyesight doesn’t t help tie it. If I use a guide I get him to tie the FG….lol.

That's all I use for braid and NEVER had a problem.

I’ve been using 832 for years, salt and freshwater. Don’t fix what ain’t broke Ditto ... I'm used to the line and know what to expect, plus I tend to get brand loyal.
