This is how to tie a loop knot for crappie jigs! For crappie fishing, this is a great knot to know because it gives the jig a lot of freedom to move around and have a ton of action! It can be easily tied in 10 seconds and it’s extremely strong as well!

I tried that knot and really wanted to love it. My problem is the eye of my jig seemed to crease the bottom of the loop and I had more break offs. Any one else have this problem!? Am I doing something wrong? Great video, I may try loop knots again.

I only fish with braid and use a loop knot. My loop is no more than 1/8th”. A long loop like in the video will eventually get caught on the hook tip. With braid you only have to pass the jig thru the loop one time. It will not slip like mono.
"I'd rather be fishing!"

My method for braid is to tie an overhand knot, pass the line through leaving the knot an inch or so above the line tie. Above the knot, I tie a uni-knot and slide it down to the knot and then cut off the access. It's easier for me with my clumsy fingers.

Take a close look at the eye of your jig. If the eye is painted, try removing the paint in the inside part of the eye and on the outside part of the eye.
