not really the bible says all people WILL hear the word at least once. What they do with it ,is their choice.

Little unfair that some get a lifetime in Jesus-ville and others get one chance, don't ya think?

Where does it state that? Not saying your wrong I just don’t recall that in the Bible. It does talk of creation alone being evidence. Bottom like many people thru history never heard the gospel spoken to them by another man- but that’s not an excuse.

The Texas Fishing Forum "Off Topic" has a lot of people in it from all walks.

I trust that whatever I want to know about almost anything, I'll get "good/real/honest" answers.

Many times we have to "wade" through the jokes, but real answers abound over time. Thanks!

I will be honest about one thing.... I don't understand the praying to Mary thing. Did you see how Christ spoke to his mother? I believe the base of Catholicism is based on a misunderstanding. "Upon this rock I shall build my church" wasn't Peter, in my humble, somewhat uneducated opinion. And denominations might be man's invention but do you blame the protestants? Martin Luther had the juevos to do what I hope I would have done and that's protest to some BS. I love me some church history!

But God loves you all..... Even when we are unlovable.

Jackson

Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

To answer the O.P.'s question, I find it hard to believe that no matter what kind of horrendous atrocities you do, that if you walk into a partitioned closet and "confess" your sins, that you can then be penanced and pardoned by a mortal man and be absolved of all you have done. Something about that just goes against the Christian morals and values I was taught to adhere to.

He doesn't forgive you. He does it in the name of God and by Gods order.

A man in a booth has no such authority. Bottom line Christ died for all sins past, present and future on the cross- man has no part in the matter other than faith. You believe that and you’ll be reconciled with God.

We'll agree to disagree.

Far more faithful than many Christians I know. Does that make them legit? I don't know; but a brother in Christ is a brother in Christ.

What did the devil tell Eve in the beginning? Mormons believe what she believed. You are right about them being respectful, gracious, giving people- but as far as being good- what’s the standard? If you line every person on earth up on a line from bad to good- at which point in that line is a person righteous before God?

If they truly believe in Jesus as the true christ, they are righteous before God.

Then this becomes an identity crisis akin to the crowd that thinks there are more than two genders. If someone makes a claim to be a catholic or a Mormon than they are affirming those beliefs. It’s important to really know what a church claims not just the surface stuff. I posted examples already from the catechism of things that say Jesus is not the Christ of the Bible. They call him Jesus Christ but disagree with who he really is- it’s an identity crisis. I say this respectfully as everyone should come to the Jesus of the Bible.
