Looking to move (back) to Aggieland soon. Fushing experience was limited to Somerville. Any thoughts? (No boat, yet.)
Thanks Barry

I went out a few weeks ago to test new electronics. It was a cluster around the ramp. Water is generally stained to muddy. Tpwd has been trying to make some improvements. Most recent electro-fishing survey got better results. Largemouth bass record was broken recently. I’ve seen people wear out crappie under the bridge. Tpwd stocked it redfish a few years ago. I’ve seen one redfish that was caught in a cast net but haven’t heard of anyone fishing for them. The lake has some fish and there is a bar & grill right by the ramp.

Were you in a dark colored skeeter? I was there a few weeks ago and you're right the dock was a cluster. There's not any no wake signs and people just drive right up to the dock. I'd suggest a week day if anything as far as the fishing goes the lake is pretty plain. I saw some fish in a little pocket but there's not a lot of cover around other than reeds

Rip rap around the shore, random tree limbs, the bridge, overflow pipe.

I've caught a few by the bridge years ago - like 30 - but that's the only place I've ever had any luck. Closest place to Northside for me back in the day, so I would go after class and as long as I caught one, I was happy. About all I'd catch, too. One.
