Always been a fiberglass guy. Been looking lately at some aluminum bay boats. Can someone talk me into or change my mind about these boats! Been looking at the G3 and Xpress. Thanks in advance.

Have a 2019 Grizzly Tracker posted in the classified you might look at.

I went to a G3 Bay 17...absolutely love it...versatile, can get into the shallows and deep water. For an older fisherman its a million pounds lighter makes launching yourself easier. Grand kids and can walk around. The best part is price....my new 2021 Bay 17 was 17K. Did I mention towing is easier due to lighter boat....Cons, been winter fishing and it can be slippery.

I think it matters where you're going to use it. If I was using in saltwater, I'd want something that's seaworthy, proper electrical wiring and support for rough seas. I'd want actual dry storage, not just a lid with a plastic liner (or no liner in some cases). Otherwise I see lots of aluminum hulls at the coast and on lakes. Fiberglass is quieter with hull slap while using the trolling motor, at least that's my experience.
