Uvalde gets worse...finally, an interview of the district police chief: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQe8cnCGt0U"Not a single responding officer ever hesitated, even for a moment, to put themselves at risk to save the children" Man, did he seriously say that? That blows any credibility he might have had. He said he didn't know he was in charge, but all the reporting said he is the one that gave the order to stand down. He intentionally did not have his radio "to free up his hands" and the radios didn't work inside the building? How can you have radios that won't work inside a school building? Plus, it looks like the delay did cost lives. The report said that one of the teachers (Mireles) died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital and three children died at the hospital. Why in the ___ hasn't he been fired yet?

That man should have been fired that day. There were brave officers wanting to go in and he gave the stand-by order not allowing them to go. Could they have saved lives we'll never know, but he f'd up big time.

Lying is the norm these days Yes in this case seems they tried to spin a bunch of BS from the very start. My thoughts are Arredondo is not fit for any public service position now or in the future. I am not sure there is any way possible they could have screwed the tragic situation any worse. Simply complete incompetence.

I believe the first 3 or 4 officers on the scene should have gone in the school and taken care of business. Heroes or goats something would have been done immediately not hours after the deaths of children. Protect and Serve, nobody protected.

He intentionally did not have his radio "to free up his hands" and the radios didn't work inside the building? How can you have radios that won't work inside a school building? Lots of steel and concrete will attenuate radio signals. Assuming his statement about radios not working inside the building is accurate, that means they likely still have the older analog radios, not digital ones. The digital radios that almost every department is using should work fine in a building.
