I have fond memories of a freshly minted SMU bachelor's degree recipient that once walked into our office...unsolicited.
He wanted to talk about employment. I never hinted that we were hiring anyone (we weren't), but in the course of our 5 minute conversation, he let me know that $330k per year "wasn't sh**". He turned that one down some day earlier in the week he said.
Also, he drove a Civic. I know a data scientist that makes that, but those jobs are pretty rare. And here I thought only data sugardaddy got that much. No, it would be a data sugarbaby. A sugardaddy pays a sugarbaby. I've learned so much since accepting the job at the university.

Yeah, I don't know about civil. I'm currently looking for an Industrial or Mechanical engineer. I'd be at 85K+ if anyone knows a sharp up-and-comer in the Houston area.
I got one for ya living in Houston but he's probably pulling down $125 ish now. Very smart, conscientious kid and not many in that age that have those qualities.

Hop should teach these kids a class on how to negotiate a job. He has a fail proof system.

I'm in the 85-110 range and I'd prefer to stay on the lower end of that. You'd think I'd be able to get a kid straight out of school for 85K, but apparently, it's harder than you'd think.

My oldest just graduated last fall with a computer science degree. He is working for a power company in Arkansas doing some sort of programming and started at 70k.
