I know none of us are perfect with our grammar, but man some things drive me totally nuts.
"Since" in place of "because." Since Because we are going to the beach, I will bring my surf rod. I know the word has been used that way for so long it has become accepted, but still... .
"An" historic event. I am going to ride an a horse today.
I have a cousin who says "I have an ideal." But for whatever reason, I just laugh that one off.
Sorry - I deal with a lot of documents every day and see a lot of things like this so it was time to take a break and do some venting. I get that language is for the purpose of communicating, and even saying it wrong still often communicates the point, but I guess I'm too old school.
What are yours?

Irregardless and conversate. Yes, they are both 'non-standard' words according to the dictionary, but they are not correct. EVER. Irregardless is some bastardized combination of regardless and irrespective. Conversate...dear God. You converse or you have a conversation...YOU DO NOT CONVERSATE!

"I could care less." Probably my biggest forum pet peeve. The expression is "I couldn't care less" folks.
May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

i know yawl read my rednek "fonic" writin' and gripe, but i do it just 2 pess u off...actually, i had the best English teacher ever...Ms. Manard, Crowell TX [1964-1968]
ok, my gripe is one of the many things she taught us...NEVER start a sentence with a conjunction or end a sentence with a preposition
MERCY - not receiving what you deserve GRACE - receiving what you don't deserve Preach the gospel at all times; USE WORDS IF NECESSARY "It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness." I'd rather walk with God with no questions answered than to walk thru life without Him and know the answers

I blame all of my "grammer" errors on spellchecker.
