Started out with a non existent top water bite. Zero. Then went to the pads. Had a big fish on but lost it on a frog. Gave us a false positive as that was the only bite we got for the next 2 hours while we hit every pad we could find. Then just went fishing. Partner caught a 6 close to last cast but even with that we only had 12 pounds with 4 fish. Oh well beautiful day and the wind did not blow for a change. How did you guys do.

We had a funny thing happen. We didn't practice at all and quite frankly hate the lake because we can't ever seem to catch a fish over 2# despite the fact everyone and their blind cousins seem to be able to. So, we normally have access to a private ramp to launch at but couldn't make that happen this year. So, we went to a public ramp and launched a little later than expected around 5:45. Clearly since first cast was at 6:00, we saw some flooded cover across from us and said, that looks decent why don't we just start there. Well we had 13# in the boat and had already culled once by 6:35. They wouldn't eat top water but were hammering skinny dippers. We missed/lost at least 6 fish in that first hour including one that would have definitely made a difference. That bite died once the sun got up and we went looking for boat houses. Unfortunately, we lost a fish off a dock that was at least 6# and only was able to cull one more time. Ended up with 5 cookie cutter 2.75# fish and weighed in 14.03. It taught us something about that lake that I think will help us in the future. Second tourney in a row execution cost us.

Early limit on topwater and culled some. Unfortunately all were small. Had a 5lber spit out a worm and broke one off on a dock. Still culled a couple more times to get to a measly 13 something pounds. We didn't fish clean but we did catch quite a few. Practice was better for bigger fish.

BThomas you can't tell me you didn't know Basschamps was fishing there unless you don't pay attention to the best trail.

Joel - Honestly, I did not know. I haven't been following any of the trails lately.
