Evidently the locals are getting fed up with Mr. Jones. I’m fishing at Ivie right now and he is here, his truck and trailer were at the ramp late yesterday evening and someone decided to steal his front roller off his trailer. He must have come in after dark and did not notice so when he loaded his boat the roller bracket put big gouges in the boat. My wife said he had posted it on FB but has since taken it down because of all the negative comments he was getting.

Looking at this pic there are two sets of scratches, short scratch look like when he unloaded and long scratch where he loaded. You can see where it was resting in the bracket, look like it may have fell out and rode that way for a while.

Takes a special kind of chicken sh*t to mess with another man's trailer while he's on the water.

Had my roller bolt snap on me a few months ago on the way home from the lake. When I got home, roller and half a bolt were laying on my spare tire. Needless to say, I had some decent fiberglass gouging from roller forks. A smooth thousand and he’ll be up and running.

I've lost a couple of those rollers in the last few years.
I never blamed it on sabotage.

Nothing personal against the guy as I've never met him and have even jumped on the band wagon talking smack about him but in the last few months he's gone from being humble to pure arrogance on FB.

Sounds like lack of maintenance on your part. I have never lost a roller just because it fell off the trailer in over 50 years of owning a boat.

Meh, put me in the “it wasn’t there” when he launched camp.

I had one come off on a brand new boat, it happens.

I'm not a fan, but come on guys. You don't think you would notice the roller gone when you launch? It's not like he has anything to gain except a repair bill.

I most likely wouldn’t notice the roller being gone if I launched before dawn.
I have also lost a couple over the years.
I feel for Josh as far as the boat damage but if I were him I would make a big deal if it.

Call it what you want !
I've lost two on this boat because the end cap came off the rod. After the second one I drilled each end of the rods and stuck a SS bolt through them.
I think it had a lot to do with how I load and unload by myself on ramps that aren't very steep.. The rollers get spun a LOT.
