Got it refreshed and carbs cleaned and she runs like a top . 1967 Evenrude 9.5 Sport Twin on a 65 LoneStar 12 ft. After adjusting the idle speed and lean mixture on the dials up front it idles like a new one. Water pump even does fine . [Linked Image]

Very nice. Now you just need to get some fish into the boat and ready for the grease..

marschall: Nice rig! In the 50's, fishermen owned outboard motors and went to fishing camps on lakes that rented boats like yours by the day or weekend. Spent many a day with my Dad in one, with his 3.5 HP Firestone clamped to a rental, and we caught lots of fish. You've got the bang-for-the-buck fishing package there! Have fun. Don't go out in big winds on open water, and always wear your PFD, if the outboard is running. I assume your outboard is pre-deadman switch, so be extra careful. Bad things can happen. I swamped my flats skiff in South Padre Island right in front of the Coast Guard station, and they never saw me. The Game Wardens saw me and towed my swamped boat to the ramp. Oh, yeah. Make sure your boat's flotation is adequate and in good condition. It saved mine. IslandJim

Thanks Jim that’s what I got it for is mainly crappie in the coves around Whitney. No way I’d take it out in big water or a windy day. Going to get a couple of really good life jackets Monday when I go to Academy to get a Couple of seat mounts
