For those that have large Huminbirds like a Helix 12 or Helix 15, do you have it connected to a dedicated battery?

My rig has 2 Helix 12’s, a Helix 10 and a Garmin 1222 with lives open. Had no problems running everything off an X2 and after a full tournament day would still crank my SHO 250. I’ve since switched to a 125a Ionic and it’s even better.

I have a Helix 15, Helix 9 and Helix 10 , and all my boat accessories running on a separate 100 ah LiFePo4 battery.. runs all day w/o issue. If you go with a Helix 15, if you are using.. like I did.. an already dedicated power line...make sure you check the fuse...Helix 15 requires a 7.5 amp slow blow fuse.....I had a 4 amp and it didnt last long....haha..

I'm going to direct wire my Helix 15 to its own battery. I'm thinking 15' of 12 gauge twisted copper wire with a 7.5 amp slow blow fuse. Does that sounds reasonable?

I run Solix 15,12 and 10.Mega 360 and live well on a group 31 X2 AGM 8 hour tournaments and no issues. Also upgraded wiring to heavier gauge harness fro Sea Clear

That should work you won't have much of a voltage drop for that length...if you plan to add additional graphs to that power line you might want to go to 10 guage..but for one large graph should be fine...
