My son and I went to Bardwell Lake on a late afternoon crappie catching adventure. We ended the day with 15 Keepers! Some of the females were still carrying eggs. All fish were caught on brush and Laydowns in 9-14 FOW. Equipment used: 10’ Denali Rods, 10lb Max Braid line, Bass Pro micro lite elite reels, various colored jig heads and Dockside Custom Bait jigs..

Nice! I've never fished Bardwell but I went across the bridge and really liked the looks of it.

I miss fishing Bardwell. It’s the lake I first learned to love crappie fishing. Lots of good fish in there. I only caught 2 that went 2lbs in the 5-6 years I fished it. You also have a chance of hooking into a hybrid on occasion! They are a blast on a crappie rig.
