Not pointing fingers or placing blame, but I've got a lot of questions on the shooting timeline.

Being reported that from the time this guy was first encountered on the Robb campus by a school police officer until he was finally shot and killed was 30 minutes.

Something definitely not right here. Why didn't the school police officer and/or other LEO's engage him immediately?

Guess we'll learn more in the coming days.

It's being reported that the police hesitated to engage and waited outside. I'll tell you exactly why. Many of our leaders have no spine and succumb to the medias demands when it comes to law enforcement. Cops have to continuously be worried about what they do, as it will get them fired and prosecuted. Many of the Cops that have been cancelled and prosecuted in recent years would not have hesitated a second to rush in to protect the children.

Some truth here , but I would also mix in a dose of fear too.

yup very well said

no one will protect the officer for going in and killing a thug. they now put officers in jail for stopping thugs. The whole GF thing all over again. Thug causes trouble and gets killed and its the police officer fault

At least one TV report said that the officer at the school did engage the shooter but was shot and the intruder went past him thru the door. I never heard that again, and the officer that was shot was part of the Border patrol unit that breached the room.

I was wondering how many, if any, local law enforcement, i.e., dps, city pd, county, etc, were at the border instead of their regular job. I know a lot of law enforcement have been redeployed to the border to help out with that mess instead. I was wondering if that affected the response times at all.

Seen that part several times. Also have seen that the officer engaged with the shooter outside, the shooter fought his way past him, gained entry into the school by the back door. When the first 2 officers arrived on scene that the 3 officers went into the school and they were the officers that were shot. They had to pull back. Then everyone was waiting for the tactical unit. But while they waited, they were breaking out windows and trying to get kids out of the school. Eventually the actual events will be out and clearer.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

After Columbine, there was a fundamental change in the "idea" of how a response should be. Prior, this would be considered a swat incident and the appropriate response would be initiated. Now, it's "go in even if you're outgunned and outnumbered." Some will say that is their job, but I've never seen suicide listed in the job description. I wasn't there, so I can't say with any certainty what the issue was.

And the news is all over the place. The truth will come out eventually.

There is a video circulating that is allegedly of LEOs outside preventing parents from going in the school while the gunman was inside for an hour.

I’m not sure if it’s accurate so I won’t link to it, but there seems to be some question about the timeline and actions of LEO on the scene.

Just FYI, it’s not necessary to use an exclamation point with every single post. Especially multiple exclamation points with every single post.

It's weird they keep saying he barricaded himself in the room. It sure sounds like from what I'm reading what they really mean is he locked the door. Tough to Monday morning quarterback without knowing all the facts. It would be real tough for me as a parent if some of those kids died toward the end of the ~40 minutes he was in that room.

I sure hope this isn't true

That video is being muted on our local channel so we can’t hear the parents.
