You are not a bleeding heart; rooster (proper term was censored?) fighting is a modern day Roman gladiator spectator activity that takes a special person to watch or participate in. There is a reason it is primarily Mexicans and Filipinos that participate. Their lives at home are often comparable to what takes place in the ring with the roosters.

Yes it is rather barbaric. Had several family members that used to participate back when it was legal in Oklahoma.

I have a hard time generating sympathy for chickens. Probably a barbaric sport, but pretty common in a lot of countries.

Anyone ever watch chickens at a processing plant? But then you'll chow down on that yardbird!

I'm unimpressed by the male chicken fights. Used to know several who raised and fought them in La..

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

I started my coaching career in Alto, Texas in 1986. They were cockfighting then. And as someone mentioned it’s “Mexicans and Filipinos”, nope not in Alto, Texas. White folks mostly, a few Hispanics and African-Americans fighting them there.

Excellent question! Maybe one of our OT journalists can ask the hard question and track down an answer.
