When it comes to grass in lakesTPWD does not like it much. They always seem to over spray it.

I found zero grass today! All the spots I’ve known there to be grass in the past, nothing.

Now what percentage of the hydrilla did TPWD say they were going to remove? I could have swore it was a very low number.

I captained my son and his buddy there Sunday for the Permian student anglers tournament and they dominated with over 32lbs. We did find some grass but none of the 5 they weighted came from it. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/05/full-2412-140260-fishss.jpg)

I saw y’all take that picture. Monster bag! Here’s mine. We have buddy tournaments with coworkers from the police department. Usually 8-12 throwing in 20-30$ Nothing serious. I won this one. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2022/05/full-52243-140321-71d5b18c_1b57_426c_80c8_a3bab784075a.jpeg)

First time I fished that lake my partner and I won 2nd in a bud light. My next trip out I caught an 8 lber and thought for sure I found my new favorite lake. Have probably fished it a dozen or more times since then and haven't caught another fish over 4 lbs. I've tried punching grass, pitching docks, deep cranking, carolina rigs on the edges of the deep grass, and about everything else I can think of. We've had several 3-fish tournaments where 6-7 lbs won with 15 - 20 guys fishing, so we just say the bite was tough that day. Then get home log onto facebook and see hells gate bass club or someone else was there and it took 25-30 lbs to win with about 10 sacks over 20. I haven't given up on her yet.....................
