I wonder why they dont let them get larger than fingerlings ? Seems like larger fish would have a better survival rate. I bet theyve done enough research into survivability and weighing that against cost and determined that what they are doing now is the most effective method. Last 2-3 years of fish you have been seeing has me confident they know what they are doing.

No sure if someone mentioned it but Lavon is full. Hopefully they will have cover and food the rest of the year.

God bless TP&W. We are blessed to have them and we also have some whiney chicks in this forum. Look At what so many other states do - NOTHING, and the whiney chicks of the TFF still find stuff to cry about - SMH I guess having another opinion makes a "whiney chick"? LOL, They do a lot of good things, but it's ok to call them on it when they miss the mark on a program or regulation, but I get it the sack huggers can just squeeze a little harder.

I completely agree--let's not forget that TPWD is a government entity, paid for by your licensing fees, park fees, and your tax dollars. Just like any other government agency, they should be held accountable. I'm pleased Lavon is getting fingerlings with our tax dollars. I'm not pleased that it sounds like the Hubbard Creek grass was sprayed using our tax dollars.

I read somewhere that once they start getting much larger than this if they are kept in captivity they start to eat each other. By releasing them at that age / size they have the best odds of survival.

Frank’s comment about whining makes a lot more sense after reading yours.
Getting grown men to agree on anything these days is impossible, but would think a “government agency” who lioks out for your favorite past time would be the exception

If they do refer to the TFF, the accountability thing makes sense to me, but if they dont I can see how some of the comments can be construed as whining 🤷♂️

All I’m saying is no agency or program will ever be perfect. Just isn’t going to happen. I trust them to do good things over all the hacks on here, me included. So let’s see the good and enjoy what help we get vs. nothing at all - thanks TP&W

You ever fish Purtis Creek Tank? Before and after TPWD had some good ideas about the grass?
