No argument with your little rant. I wish more boaters would slow down when approaching no wake zones. While I agree 100%, if these boat owners are shutting down, before they pass the buoy, and the wakes are still a problem, then this rant should really be aimed at the improper placement of the buoys. Cutting folks off ainโt cool either. If your in a hurry, then head in a little earlier. While I can't say for certain whether buoys are correctly placed at every location, I can say with certainty that when I'm fishing on my kayak inside a buoy-marked area, I see way too many boats come powering through the buoy line throwing up a huge wake before they finally slow down. On the plus side, it gives me practice handling rough waters with the yak This. They would literally throw less wake if they buzzed through on plane, not that I want that either. Wet [censored] sucks. Sucks more in the cold weather months.
