I was finally able to do a bucket list trip to Lake Champlain for smallmouth. A friend and I were able to fish twelve out of thirteen days last week and the week before. The fishing was absolutely out of this world, we caught from 40 to over 100 each day with close to 50% of them being over 4 lbs. The lake and surrounding area is very beautiful with snow covered mountains in the distance.
We stayed at a local lodge with cabins that are perfect for fishermen and their boats. Called The Anchorage, in South Hero VT. The owner, Dave Morrissette is a super nice guy and very knowledgeable on current fishing patterns and locations. If you are planning a trip, which I highly recommend, you should definitely check into staying with them.

We crossed the lake last year on the ferry with our fifth wheel. Beautiful area. I need to put a smallmouth trip on my bucket list.
