It sucks but got my whole day paid by our tight azz company. Sat around for 3 hrs. till they told us all 3 court cases had been canceled! Walked out full day pay plus a $6 county check. Baller Shot Caller.

Bothers me because I spent a month and half on a federal case in downtown Dallas about thirty yrs. ago. I knew my fellow jurors pretty well by then. Three defendants on drug trafficking charges of Mexican black tar heroin. They went down.

I have never had a problem getting out of serving on a jury. Federal is the worse. Fortunately i lived in the NE district and court was in Sherman not Dallas. I had to call in every Friday for 3 months. One week I was in Oregon on business and planned to stay there 2 weeks. Last jury duty I had was an illegal horse race and drugging trial in Rockwall County. I was juror number 5 and destined to serve if I did not speak up. The defendent was Hispanic and some of the witnesses would need an interpreter. That was an easy one to get scratched from. The quiet ones get picked. The judge in the horse racing trial even told us that.

My company paid me a full days pay for jury duty as long as we got the proper documentation from the court... I brought it to my boss and after the first day and he told me I didn't need it and for the remained of the time if I got released early to just go fishing... The court gave us $7 a day and even reimbursed for our parking... But it was a waste of time... Fight city traffic in the morning only to be told a few hours later you hadn't been chosen so you could head home and do it all again for two weeks... I never got called to even interview... Dan

3-4 yrs ago got called in to fannin county court, sat in the hall for almost 4 hrs. and they came out and told us they reached a plea deal. no idea what kind of trial it would have been but got 10.00 for my troubles and goofed off the rest of the day.

I've been picked to serve on 3 jury's. Two in the county and one in the Federal Big House on Corpus Christi Bay. It was a solid 5 days in that federal court room, when we handed down the verdict, they brought in a dozen Marshalls and surrounded the room, even escorted us to and from our vehicles every day. I enjoyed serving on all 3 jury's. It's the other handful of times you get summoned only to sit in those packed rooms for hours and hours and then let go. Those days bite.

Before I retired I got 8 hours pay for jury duty. Most of the time I was on call in and was told not needed. It worked well as my start time was 3am so my route was already covered by the time I found out that I wasn't needed. Was never picked for county courts, if I did have to go in I wasn't picked. Got picked once for local city court, it was over quickly and the guy regretted not taking a plea deal, LOL Now that I am retired I hate getting called, just got a summons for local city court and will request reschedule as long as I can....

Unless my jury duty summons comes certified mail, it's going straight into the trash and I'm not going.
