Looking to hitup lewisville and was thinking of going to the old dam if its shallow. My mom and sister are going out somewhere so my dad and i will probably head out for some fishing and dinner tonight. I have some fish traps out at the creek behind my house so i might pick up a few small sunfish from there or i will buy some bait off of lakeview bait shop... anyways, anyone have any luck at the dam? how shallow should i be fishing from about 6 till sundown? appreciate the help.
Trinity river is also in consideration, if i can find a good spot to access on google maps.

Maybe, but most likely maybe not, at Cedar Creek. Take it for what it's worth but as of the last few days not, the shad spawn is nearing completion.

If you are fishing the old Lewisville dam you have both options to try. If you go to the left on the sand banks, you have the option to fish shallow. Just try it for about 30-45 min. No bites, move to the other side where it is deeper. I typically like to go all the way to the end and try fishing the cut through or the edge of the cut. Lots of hybrids and whites hang out in this area due to the high concentration of baitfish. The old dam is always worth a shot.
